Ingredients
Makes 3 ounces
- 3 tablespoons raw cacao butter
- 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1 heaping tablespoon raw agave nectar
- 4 drops peppermint essential oil
Equipment
- bain-marie
- stainless steel wire whisk
Instructions
- Melt the cacao butter gently in a bain-marie or dehydrator until runny. (For a bain-marie: add the solid cacao butter to a heatproof bowl standing over a wide, shallow saucepan or skillet of hot, not boiling, water on your stove’s lowest heat setting. It should take about 10 minutes. The dehydrator can also be used to gently melt raw cacao butter. Place in a small dish and leave on one of the dehydrator shelves at 105°F for around 15–20 minutes or until melted.)
- When the cacao butter has completely melted, spoon in the cacao powder before pouring in the agave nectar and adding the peppermint essential oil. Using the wire whisk, gently whisk the mixture until the powder and liquids are fully combined.
- Take the heatproof bowl off the saucepan of hot water and use before the butter sets.
Jessica’s Top Tip
Your body temperature regulates at around 98°F, which is very similar to the melting point of raw cacao butter. This makes it the perfect sensual, melt-in-your-mouth aphrodisiac.
